Week of August 24:

  • The contractor started sanitary sewer service replacements in Phase 2A along East Main Street. East Main Street within Phase 2A will be closed for the duration of utility work.
  • The contractor will also be setting up temporary water for residents along East Main Street. Residents will be contacted prior to their connection to temporary water.
  • A temporary mailbox bank was installed at the Schult Street intersection for all residents in Phase 2 with a mailbox along East Main Street.

Week of August 31:

  • The contractor plans to continue sanitary sewer service replacements in Phase 2A along East Main Street. East Main Street within Phase 2A will be closed for the duration of utility work.
  • The contractor will also be making final connections to the temporary water system for residents along East Main Street. Residents will be contacted prior to their connection to the temporary water system.
  • The temporary water system set-up will require a water shutdown which is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1st. The Contractor will install new valves for connections to the existing water system. The time and duration of the water shutdown will be shared with the effected residents a minimum of 24 hours prior via door hanger notice.

Temporary Water System:

  • If you have any kind of issue with your water service, now or at any time during the project, please contact Nolan Boice right away.
  • **When connected to the temporary water service, residents are encouraged to let their water run briefly before using it, especially during warm and sunny weather. Temporary water lines may warm up when exposed to direct sunlight, which can cause the water from the faucet to be unexpectedly hot when you first turn it on. Running the water for a short time will help clear the warmed water from the line and bring in cooler water.**
  • Reminders for working around a temporary water line:
    • The temporary water system will be a 2-inch pipe in the boulevard and service branches will be a smaller diameter hose connection to the house.
    • PLEASE DO NOT touch or attempt to move the temporary water lines.
    • PLEASE DO NOT mow over the temporary water line.
    • The Contractor will berm the water lines at each driveway so residents can access their driveway. It’s OK to drive over the bermed water line.

Center Street (CSAH 33):

  • Due to railroad permitting delays, all work along Center Street (CSAH 33) is postponed until 2027.

Project Notes:

  • Thank you in advance for your continued attention to project safety in the work zone.
  • A sewer lining information sheet and example door hanger work notice were uploaded to the city’s website. We encourage all residents to check out both.
  • A phasing plan figure has been added to the city website. This is for residents to reference and understand where work is occurring when phases are called out in the weekly updates. We encourage all residents to check it out.
